One of the institutions that are been affected by the coronavirus pandemic is the library. After the president decided to ban all gathering in the country, the library has been closed to all users nationwide. But the director of the Northern regional library, Mr. Aaron Kuwornu says the structure might be closed but the online department is not closed.
Speaking to Sanatu Zambang, the director called on citizens to make good use of the Ghana Library Mobile App by downloading the App to read their favorite books online.
According to the director, users can download any book of their choice just by downloading the app and creating an account. The app is free for all to use. He believes that this is a great opportunity for parents and their kids to bound in this pandemic. He also advised parents to assist their kids in using the App.
The App was launched last year to mark the year of reading to boost the reading habits among the youth and students.
The Ghana Library App, which is available on iOS and Playstore, is a digital collection of classical and some current books which have been collated through collaboration with organization and communities such as WorldReader, Britannica, and FeedBooks.
There are different genres of books from fiction to non-fiction, children’s books, thrillers, and others available on the App.
