The Northern regional NPP women’s organizer, Hajia Rahana Abdul Aziz has also joined the fight to combat the deadly coronavirus in the metropolis.
On the 31st of March 2020, she distributed hand sanitizers to traders in the central business district of Tamale. She went from shop to shop handing out the sanitizers to traders in the Aboabo and the central markets respectively and also educating the traders on how to practice the safety measures by the World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines to stay safe from the virus while selling in the markets.
According to Hajia, this gesture as she did is part of her social cooperate responsibility as a person in the society who wants the betterment of her people. On 12 March 2020, the country recorded its first two cases and since then the number has risen to 161 as of 31st March 2020. Tamale has also recorded 10 cases so far.
