The MCE appealed to the Chief to direct a local drummer to announce to the community members to adhere to the social distancing and personal hygiene protocols. She said these are not normal times in the country, advising the people to cooperate with government and health workers.

Hajia Mariam entreated the people to stay home to prevent themselves from contracting the disease as government and healthcare experts work tirelessly to control the spread of the disease in the country. She charged the chiefs to support the government by enforcing the ban on social gathering.

She further appealed to the chiefs to ensure residents of their communities who return from the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions observe the 14-day mandatory quarantine to avoid community infections of the virus.
