The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Cynthia Morrison has urged the people of the Northern Region not to take pride in being described as poor people.
She said people in the region should not be excited when others describe their people as poor because the area is blessed with hardworking farmers who cannot be said to be poor.
The Minister was speaking in Tamale on Tuesday at a workshop for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives and Coordinating Directors on how to build consensus for the commencement of the Ghana National Household Registry exercise.
