Barely 24hr after a Facebook post, Ghana Water Company respond to emergency

If you ever think that Social Media cannot be used for facilitating development, you may have to think again.

Barely 24 hours after a Facebook post by Radio Justice’s Mohammed Muktar Alhassan to report a faulty and leaking pipe behind the GETFund building of the Tamale Technical University, has the Maintenance Team of the Ghana Water Company Limited responded swiftly to get the problem fixed.

For several weeks water could be seen flowing through the fence walls of the University’s hostel and that of the Bagabaga College of Education at the western side and through road coursing inconvenience to many road users and denying the residence of potable drinking water for the past five months.

The journalist who is also very active on social media made a post on Facebook with pictures of the water going waste.

This drew the attention of the Ghana Water Company who sent their men to search for and fix the problem.

The residence of the area has been sharing their excitement and gratitude to Mr. Muktar and Radio Justice for his concern.
