Health workers have abandoned the Oseido clinic in the Yendi Municipality of the Northern Region because there are no roads to access the areas. The community has no road and is normally cut off from the rest of the world during the raining season. Because of this situation, the people of Oseido can only access health care when it’s the dry season when they seek health care at the Yendi Hospital.

Oseido comprising five other communities and it’s about 19 km away from the municipal capital, Yendi. You can only access the area through a footpath and a canon at the riverside.

over the years, the area has been neglected by various governments. Services such as education, water, health among others are considered a luxury and only for the few rich who can afford to move out of the area to seek these services.

It is against this backdrop that, the people have staged a peaceful demonstration to drum home their concerns.  Chief of the area, Daniel Suglo said, the nurse has abandoned the place because of the challenges the area is facing.

He said another concern of the people on the road to the area. He warned that if nothing is done about the road no politician should venture into the area to campaign.

Chief Suglo added that children in the area have stopped attending school because they are unable to cross most of the year.

 He said none of his people were registered during the Ghana card registration exercise because the officials could not access the place and they could not move out too.
