The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Kumbungu Constituency, Dr. Hamza Adam has denied allegations of vote-buying leveled against him by the outgoing Member of Parliament for the area, Ras Mubarak.

Ras Mubarak lost his bit to contest the Kumbungu seat on the ticket of the NDC when he lost to the University for Development Studies lecturer in the party’s parliamentary primaries held in August this year.

Ras Mubarak raised allegations of vote-buying against Dr. Hamza after the elections, adding that he reported the matter to the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI). But reacting to the issue for the first time, Dr. Hamza told Mohammed Muktar Alhassan on Radio Justice’s political show The Northern Eye over the weekend that it was never true that he bought his way through adding that the electorate even took the allegations as an attack on their integrity.

He, however, was quick to add that despite what happened, the matter has been resolved and he and Ras Mubarak will be working together during the campaign season ahead of the 2020 elections.
