Aliu Fauzia is the Policy and Advocacy officer of Wateraid Ghana and she is leading the Making Rights Real project in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
The MRR approach was developed by a consortium of organizations and is co-led by Wash United and Wateraid International. The approach supports local government officials in their work for water and sanitation services for all by making the human rights to water and sanitation relevant and actionable to their everyday work.
Wateraid Ghana will build the capacity of local CSOs to adopt MRR approach with District Assembly officials. It is envisaged that the local CSOs will be community advocacy groups, including women-led groups.
These groups will engage District Assembly officials on challenges they and their constituencies encounter regarding water, sanitation and hygiene services, using the MRR approach
