Some fans and industry players in the Northern region believe that the music industry is dying because of the slow pace these days as compared to some few years ago but OneNira believes otherwise. The jeje hitmaker in the studios of Sanatu Zambang describes the Northern Music to a Phoenix.
“The industry is not dying, it is growing and you know sometimes, when something wants to grow, like a phoenix, it has to die and be reborn into something beautiful. The industry is taking is different shape, different dimension especially the way things are moving”.

He credits these new happenings to the advancement of technology in the distribution channels. According to OneNira, with channels likes Youtube, Soundcloud, audio mark, and the rest, musicians now have the options and where to put their music.
These distribution channels are helping them track their fans, who listen to their music from which part of the world. He also said the there is a new power shift from radio presenters and DJs due to these new distribution channels and says it is good for the industry.
He added that some of the industry players might not be happy with the new ways things are going because they are no longer the center of attention and power has been given back to musicians.
”A lot of people would not be happy with what you are saying. A lot of them built their reputation based on that. When these other promotional things came a lot of DJs are suffering in terms of getting people. There is now podcasting, there is audio mark, there is writing. if you wouldn’t produce a song that will fit into their tempo, they would not play it. It was really affecting the creativity of the industry.”

”Now the industry is taken a different shape. It is not concentrated on a few people. You need to put in a lot of work. It not like when people use to put out anything out there. Now you really have to put in a lot of work. Now Tamale people judge what you say, how you say it, your presentation, everything. You listen to someone, the beat is not even nice but they love what he is saying.” He added.
