‘’This challenge means a lot to me because this is the first time, I have participated in an art exhibition and people are getting to know that I can draw aside been a social activist and a volunteer.’’
Salma
‘’ It is very important to everyone It is going to open something new, especially the artists. I hope to learn new things at the end of the challenge.’’ She added.
Salma says that, after meeting Ibrahim Mahama, the founder of Savannah Centre for Contemporary Art, she feels like she can do something in arts afterward and she is inspired by the work of the artist. She also acknowledges how amazing it will be for her to get training from SCCA as an artist.
According to Salma, apart from studying visual art in senior high school, she has not had any professional training in art and she will be very grateful to get such help from them. Most of the time, she learns from YouTube and Instagram.
Salma also took the opportunity to appeal to the general public to appreciate artists and the work that they are doing.
‘’I pray and hope that after this day, people will be open to art and at least appreciate what artists do. Artists are pouring a lot of emotions from the inside.’’
Salma
‘’We will be grateful if people appreciate what we are doing and if in case of patronizing, they will patronize it very well.’’
