Quran recital from some students of Ambariya Islamic school
The Iqra group which started as the voice of Islam group in 2017 with the intention to propagate the teaching of Islam. It started with a group of eight with just one lady in the group. Some challenges led to the collapse of the voice of the Islam group.
An introspection led to the solving of the problem which led to the creation of the new group, Iqra Islamic group in 2018.
The core mandate of the group is to provide aid for the needy and the underprivileged. The Iqra group has received quite a great response from the Muslim community in Ghana.
This group which started in the Eastern region has reached out to, too many people and thus decided to spread their invitation to the northern region.
The founder of the group, Seidu Mohammed Zakaria in his address mentioned that Iqra is to working towards the growth of humanity among the Muslim communities. He aligned the growth of humanity to the growth of Islam. It’s an extension to the northern region is also to extend aid to a large scope of the Muslim communities.
He called on the GMSA to work hand in hand with them to make this a reality fostering unity among Muslims is also a fundamental objective of the Iqra group. Iqra group has its headquarters in Accra
The first speaker, Iman Huzeifa touched on the need for people to be each other keepers. He stressed on how people expected to be paid for everything done and not for Allah’s sake. He entreated that Muslims should share such behavior.
Second speaker, Sheikh Abdul Wadud in his lecture was centered on the need for Muslims to develop the habit of giving. He mentioned that these were just a few orphanages started by Muslims and help always come from Saudi Arabia and not Ghana.
There was some Quran recital from some students of Ambariya Islamic school. The event ended with fundraisers to support the work of Iqra group.
