Africa Youth Centre for Development held its maiden edition of my community impact challenge on SDGs on 20th August 2021 at Radach lodge and conferences in Tamale.

My community impact challenge on SDGs is meant to develop the minds of students to be critical thinkers on how to solve social issues affecting the youth and livelihoods in their communities. This initiative will also build students to have their community and nation at heart in the early stage of their development so they can grow up to be patriotic citizens and active citizens in the development and progress of their communities and nation as well.

The participating schools were constituted into a team and were tasked to identify a social problem affecting the growth of the marginalised group in a community. After the problem identification stage, the schools were tasked again to develop a concept in solving one of the problems identified in the communities to help attain the SDGs.

Tamale Girls Senior High school were declared the winners of the maiden edition of my community impact challenge on SDGS after presenting their report to a panel of judges detailing how they went about their project.

Other participating schools include Kalpohin Senior High school, Northern School of Business, Business Senior High school, Ambariya Senior High school, etc.

Partners for this initiative include SWIDA-GH, HEALTHY CITIES FOR ADOLESCENT DEVELOPMENT, SAVANNAH SIGNATURES and NORSAAC. As partners, this organisation mentored and supported the participating schools to engage their adopted communities and carry out certain activities related to their selected topics.
