Nana Kyei, founder of Wear Nation and the Wear Nation Foundation

Born in Ejura in the Ashanti Region, Nana Kyei Abankwah, baby Nana Kyei and his parents moved to Northern Region capital Tamale. Little Nana Kyei started schooling at St Joseph school, Dohanayili then later moved to Pentecostal Academy.

Nana Kyei Abankwah, studied general science at Seven Great Princes Academy in Accra.  He continued to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and graduated with BSc. Geological engineering in 2013. Nana Kyei Currently studying business management at ICM – UK (Institute for Commercial management) January 2015, Wear Nation came into existence. Nana Kyei told Sanatu Zambang,


‘’ I fell in love with African fabrics somewhere 2009. In the beginning I used to design for myself and colleagues at school. It wasn’t really a business.After university in 2013, I partnered a friend who produces fashion accessories to start AO Creations creations but we couldn’t sustain it.

Around that time another friend started a similar business, Native Fabric clothing so I agreed to partner with him until December 2014 when we decided to part ways’’.
