The member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini has pledged that, should the National Democratic Congress come to power after the 2020 elections, he will lobby for the Choggu roundabout to be preserved and named in honor of the late Dr. David Abdulai popularly known as the Mad Doctor or Dr. Choggu.
He made this statement on Saturday 21st November, 2020 at the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium in Tamale during the launch of Choggu Boys Heroes of Change Album.
The Heroes of Change Album is to celebrate and honor the lives of three great fallen souls of the land whose lives touched and impacted many in the northern region. They Dr. David Abdulai as the Mad Doctor or Dr. Choggu, Mohammed Hafiz as Diema Naa I & Pastor Dokurugu.
The MP advised the youth to emulate the good deeds of the dead heroes so as to keep their legacies alive and develop their communities if they really want to honor the lives of our fallen heroes.
He also commended Choggu boys for their initiative to remember and honor these fallen heroes and pledge GHC 1,000.00 for the project. He praised their work and described their style of art as spoken words which is unique, very creative, and a way of selling the Dagbon culture.
He acknowledges the importance of the art sector in the development of society and pledges to support the entertainment industry in the northern region.
