Activista Ghana urges EC to engage all stakeholders.

The northern regional branch of Activista Ghana has issued a press statement urging the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana to engage with all the relevant stakeholders thus the political parties and civil society organizations (CSOs) to forestall any possible political tension in the country.

Reading the press statement at a press conference in Tamale, the northern regional coordinator for Activista Ghana, Mr. Iddi Rayan Yussif said it was noteworthy for the EC to have a broader consultation with all relevant key players so as to address all concerns of stakeholders involved in this upcoming election in the country.

Regarding the road map for peace, the youth group appealed to the National peace council to consider the various concerns raised by the political parties and should not be undermined or relent in their efforts to address critical and sensitive concerns raised in ways that are progressive and non-partisan.

Activista Ghana also called on the youth to resist any selfish and visionless political party that will call on them to serve as vigilantes to perpetrate violence. And to the media, the group wants them, to continue their work of unmasking the perpetrators of violence.
