The forum organized by Star Ghana Foundation in partnership with Ghana Developing Communities Association, Tamar Foundation Universal and Northern Development Forum to discuss and give their input on what the Northern Development forum should give to political parties to influence the formulation of their manifestoes.
The theme for the event was ‘’Keeping the Northern Ghana Transformation Agenda in the Manifestos of the Political Parties for the Elections in Ghana.’’
The event brought in CSOs, media, chiefs, opinion leaders and other interest groups to contribute their ideas and input on what they think will be good for the development of northern Ghana.
Sectors that were considered include, climate change and agriculture, education and health, infrastructure and private sector development, peace and security, tourism, culture, and creative arts.
The objective of the event is to come out with a policy document that will be used to influence the manifestos of political parties, thus for political parties to ensure inclusive and equitable development, by including the prioritized game-changing projects and programs that will be presented by the Northern Development Forum.
The Chairman of the event, Professor Naa Nantogma advised the group to give a timeline and quantitative data for the political parties in the projects they want them to carry out.
Similar to the event has been held in Bolgatanga and Wa to collate ideas of people that will reflect the voices, aspirations, and views of a representative sample of the people from the five northern regions of Ghana.
