Abass Safian artwork captures Mama Rams hit song ‘Baa Wohi Toli’

A 30-year-old videographer, Abass Safian says his drawings are inspired by his environment. He liked to draw what he sees around him.

Due to his profession as a videographer, he has had plenty of opportunities to travel and these travels have helped him to come up with plenty of drawings.

According to Safian who is popularly called Alisco says art has always been part of his life growing up. He started drawing at an early age and this passion for art has led him to study visual in senior high school.

One of Abass recent artworks captures Northern Ghana celebrated highlife musician, Ibrahim Ramatu who was known in showbiz as Mama Rams. In 2004, Mama Rams first Album, “Lam bela bela” which was released under the Record Label – Big Time Entertainment made its way into the record books as one of the most sold Albums at the time. Over 10, 000 copies were sold in the first few months of its release. Mama Rams became a household name in most parts of Ghana in less than a year of her breakthrough.

Mama Rams was laid to rest on Monday 10 February 2020, at her home town in Walewale, after a short illness. The late Northern iconic songstress was a mother of two sons.
