Most often when you ask people what they need to grow their business, the first thing they ask for is financial assistant but this artist is of a different view. Braimah Adam an artist in Tamale says that it is not the financial support they need but rather they need people to purchase their work.
According to him, people do not like to pay for art, especially family and friends. Most at times they request for these things for free or sneak into the workshop to take their work. This he believes does not help them to grow their business.
Speaking to Sanatu Zambang, the Braimah Adam says that, people the notion that here, people do not appreciate art is untrue. ‘’ What they feel for art is high but when it can come to support it is different. We don’t need money, what we need is for you to buy our art and not request for it free’’.
Braimah Adam is a graduate of the Tamale Technical University. He gets his inspiration from the things that he buys. Most often he buys things, gets home, and dismantles them just to recreate them again. He does paintings, graphic design, and interior décor.
He started drawing during his basic school level and was consequently encourage by his brother to further his education. In senior high school, he studied, Visual arts and move to tertiary to continue with industrial art.
Currently, he works at home but he has acquired a working space in the city as his workshop. He hopes to expand his business.
