A senior lecturer at the University for Development Studies, UDS Dr.Hamdia Alhassan is calling on the government through the assemblies to establish food collection and distribution centers in order to reduce the amount of food that goes waste.

According to her, many people are tempted to prepare a lot of food when it is in abundance and they are not able to eat all for which reason the rest go waste. If these food collections and distribution centers are available, it would help in collecting excess foods and redistributing to those who really need it.

Dr. Hamdia speaking to Mohammed Muktar Alhassan of Radio Justice on Let’s Talk Inclusive Development and Child Poverty. She urged religious leaders to help in reducing food wastage by speaking about it in their various sermons.
