Over the weekend, Vodafone Ghana held an interactive session with some bloggers in the country and took them through their operations and social intervention programs of the year 2019.
During the interaction, Director of External Affairs for Vodafone Ghana, Gayheart Mensah, expounded the importance of the work of bloggers to their operations as a network and retracted the need to create a lasting relationship with the media.
Also at the meeting was the Cooperate Communication Manager of the company, Daniels Aseidu, who took bloggers through an array of operations and interventions undertaken by the company in 2019.
From Vodafone’s key partnership with government in driving the Sustainable Development Goals – STEM, Digital education and Female inclusion to their new pioneering products like the zero-rated UBER app, One Family, Free P-2-P, Agent’s Insurance and Travel Insurance.
On their 4G internet service, Mr Aseidu stated that Vodafone has been working on their network expansion in ensuring that customers have reliability and consistency in their user experience.
“In 2019, Vodafone rolled out 200 sites between April and July as part of our 4G expansion and are preparing to add another 100 cell sites. Our 2G and 3G sites expansions are also underway to give a holistic experience across all customer touchpoints,” he said.
For an improved customer experience, Vodafone Ghana revamped their customer mobile application – MyVodafoneApp – with up to date digital technology, ease of access and use to enhance the user experience.
In 2019, Vodafone announced a new initiative which was in partnership with UNDP to directly empower 1,500 women with financial skills in the Upper East, with indirect benefits to 10,000 households.
Between April and November this year, the Vodafone Ghana INSTANT SCHOOL platform have directly benefited close to 20,000 students across the country.
Vodafone’s Coding programme which is targeted at Ghanaian youth aged between 14 and 18 years with a passion for technological innovation forms part of the company’s strategy to ignite Ghana’s digital revolution and aimed at reaching 10,000 Ghanaians in five years.
Vodafone’s commitment to Ghana seeks to grow more in the coming year as they continue to be an integral part of the country’s development.
