The Women Sports Associations of Ghana (WOSPAG) is organizing a workshop for women in sports leadership at the Media Center, Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, December 5, 2019.

According to Mrs. Joyce Mahama, the workshop is to encourage more female participation in sports management and administration.

She said the program which is supported by the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) and the National Sports Authority (NSA) as well as Women In Sports Association (WISA) will attract representatives from the various sports federations and media.

Mrs. Joyce Mahama said the resource persons are personalities who have organized sports from the basics to the national and international levels and are going to motivate as well as share their experiences.

She hinted that the organization of Ampe competitions, such as leagues is very much on the agenda as WOSPAG wants to promote the traditional sport to the international stage and find how it would fit into the program of the 2023 African Games to be hosted by Ghana.

Madam Mahama called on women’s sports groups to come together under WOSPAG so that they can attract sponsorship to organize more programs.

She thanked the GOC president for his support and encouragement.
