Yaa Naa cautions Ghanaians to beware of the divisive political ploys by some politicians to escalate inter-ethnic acrimony in the country ahead of the 2020 Elections.
The King of Dagbon has cautioned Ghanaians to beware of what he describes as the divisive political ploys by some politicians to escalate inter-ethnic acrimony in the country ahead of the 2020 Elections. Yaa Naa Abukari II is also cautioning the youth to be circumspect with their utterances and machinations of over ambitious politicians who are bent on furthering their political aspirations at all cost.
The Dagbon overlord was speaking at the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Okyehene, Osagyefo Amotia Ofori Panin at Kyebi in the Eastern Region on Saturday. Yaa Naa Abukari II who was speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the celebration underscored the need for Ghanaians to educate themselves on the different cultures in the country, build on their varied strengths and help each other eliminate the weaknesses.
Speaking on the role of the chieftaincy institution in nation building, the Dagbon King regretted that successive governments have robbed the traditional rulers of most of their powers. He said the National House of Chiefs should not be seen as a mere addition of governance only to be consulted as an after-thought.
