The executive director for Savannah Integrated Development Agency (SWIDA-GH) Hajia Halima on Friday, 30th July, 2021 featured on the Northern Regional Library Personality Read for the month of July to read and share her story to the pupils of SDA Junior High School in Tamale at the premises of the library.
The program dubbed The Personality Read is an initiative of the Ghana Library Authority to encourage reading among pupils in basic school and also mentor them.
Hajia Halima, in her interaction with the pupils implored the pupils to take reading seriously to open their minds to new things, which would help them to excel in their various fields of endeavor.
As someone who is passionate about the development of kids, she encouraged all to regularly visit the library to build their knowledge and be good model citizens. The pupils also took time to ask questions and interact with Hajia on how to become good pupils and excel in their studies.
Mr Aaron Kuwornu, Northern Regional Librarian, said the Library would be undertaking a number of activities during the year as part of efforts to encourage and remind all about the benefits of reading. He also encourage the pupils to make the library their friend and visit the place regularly.
