The annual Trends Runway show occurred at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium last Saturday. The
annual fashion show saw the crème de la crème in the Tamale fashion space showing up to support
their favorite designers while there were also first-timers at the event.
Fashion is an everyday lifestyle for the people of Tamale but when it comes to fashion shows and
people attending is still in the growing stages. Trends runway show is also one of the fashion shows in the metropolis where designers push boundaries and create designs that transcend generations. The 2023 edition was no different. Beautiful designs were showcased.
Sanatu Zambang in an interview with some fashion design students from Fatsu Fashion House, said Jhozis Stitches designs stood out for them at the Trends Runaway show. According to
them, they liked the choice of fabric, color and pattern she created.
Every year, Fatsu Fashion House gives opportunities to her students to participate or attend fashion event as part of the curricular of the school before they complete school. This year, the students were there to observe.
Speaking to Fatima Sumani (Fatsu Garments) she said the reason the students not participating this year is that, this years batch were larking behind due to circumstances beyond the fashion house control. However she did hinted that the students though will end their training this December, they will return to participate next year.
Another outstanding designer is LJ Mavazi. LJ’s designs were on sustainable fashion. They liked the
idea because of the waste material she used in her creation, they learnt a lot and how they can also
incorporate that into their work when they are done with their training.
A regular attendee of the Trend Runaway Show also shared her views about this year’s event saying
the buzz for the show was low and it affected the turnout for the fashion show. According to her,
she did not see a lot of publicity for the event. It was the last minute she got to hear about the

according to her, were always a challenge for her with regards to getting transportation home. She
commended the organisers for shifting the time.
Designers for the night included Groomsmen, Tiag Couture, LJ Mavazi, Jhozis Stitches, and
Alhamdu Trend while the likes of Latif, Barbara, Catherine, Emmanuel, Faruk, Raqib, and Banze
Bright were among the models on the runway.
