The competition which was held on the 22nd of March, 2023, saw four schools compete against each other at the premises of the Northern Regional Library. The poets were given a free window to perform poems based on their chosen themes.

The performing acts were all spectacular and did not hold back with their presentation. Among the themes explored by the performing acts included patriotism, health, the importance of education, Ghanaian history, agriculture, youth development, etc.

The Library Poet is one of the extracurricular activities that the library is organising to allow students to develop their literary skills, communication skills and also improve their confidence level.

According to one of the officers at the Library, the Library Poet is going to be an annual event that will seek to bring every SHS in the region together to compete and open opportunities for them in harnessing their skills in the literary world.

To make the competition open to everyone, the library is calling on sponsors and partners to collaborate and make it a life-changing opportunity for every senior high school in the region to take part.
