An NGO Race 4 Aid based in Accra has donated some essential food items and toiletries to the Tamale children home.
The items included a disclosed amount of money, soups, lactogen, toilet roll, hand sanitizers and among others. Speaking to Justice News the Executive Director Mohammed Mutawakil Abubakari said at a time the world is battling with COVID 19 there is the need for vulnerable children such as those in the orphanage are remembered.
He said the Tamale children’s home is faced with a lot of challenges such as raising money to pay their utility bills and the upkeep of the children reason his NGO decided to support. Mohammed Abubakari said his organization’s aim is not just to fight against any pandemic/epidemics but to help in making life meaningful and purposeful for all. He said they will continue to support the children in their own small way any time the need arises.
The Programs Manager of the Social Welfare Department Annuciata Mz Anglaare commended the NGO for the donation adding that similar donations were made in 2015. She said the donation will go a long way to support the children. Madam Anglaare thanked the NGO for their support and appealed to NGOs, Civil Society Organizations and Religious Institutions to help secure the life of the children by putting up a fiancé wall for the home.
