One of the renowned and pioneers of the dagbanli movie industry in Tamale, Ahmed Saani has made a passionate call to investors and the public to support the industry with resources for it grow and compete internationally with the other booming industries around the world.
Known in showbiz as Minister, the veteran actor expressed disappointed in the lack of support to the industry saying people fail to acknowledge the business aspect of the profession and this hinders the progress of the industry.
In an interview with Sherifatu Imoro of Sanatu Zambang, Minister said that the production cost for a good movie is very high and they do not have such resources to do that. They sometimes find it difficult to cater to costuming, settings for the movies and payment of the crew as well.
He also says that, if interventions are not made, the industry risk collapsing and all efforts made since 1989 will be in vain.
