The government of Ghana launched the “Beyond the Return, The Diaspora Dividend” initiative, at a brief ceremony at the Kempisnki Hotel, Accra on December 27.
As the ‘Year of Return’ draws to a close, it was stated that the rationale of ‘Beyond the Return’ is to “engage Africans in the diaspora and all persons of African descent more positively in areas such as trade and investment co-operation, and skills and knowledge development”.
The flagbearer for the Convention Peoples’ Party (CPP), Lawyer Ivor Kobina Greenstreet has tasked the government to take the “Beyond the Year of Return” initiative to other parts of the country. He urged the leaders of the initiative to involve every other Ghanaian and not only focus in Accra, the capital of the country.
Let’s really promote the excellent “Beyond the Year of Return” events to all 16 Regions. Involve local musicians, artistes,MMDCE’s and the youth. Expand the implementation committee and make everything even more exciting. Let’s intensify the Ghana Brand and keep it going!!!
