Outgoing Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo has eulogized the late President Mills who nominated her to the African Court of Human and Peoples’ Rights based in Ethiopia.
In her last hearing at the Supreme Court in Accra today, Justice Sophia Akuffo described the late President as one of the kindest lecturers she had ever met.
Sophia Akuffo revealed her struggles with arithmetic as she sat in the Taxation class, which was taught by Prof. Evans Atta Mills at the Ghana School of Law. But according to her, Prof. Mills had the patience for her lack of knowledge in arithmetic and even passed her in her final examination.
The outgoing Chief Justice who also rose to become the President of the African Court on Human and People’s Rights revealed the role the late President played to ensure she effectively ran the African Court.
She also praised former President John Mahama for supporting her tenure as leader of the African Court on Human and People’s Rights and as Chief Justice.
