  • Junaid Timtooni Yakubu: The smartest people I have ever come across are all from Northern Ghana, we have potential.

Episode 8 of Sanatu Zambang Café Experience on 6th May, 2021 hosted three quests from different field to discuss development of the northern region and the nation at large based on their chosen career. The three guest included media practitioner, Miss Khadija Abdul Samed, film maker, Junaid Timtooni Yakubu and Dr. Seidu Fitter, a doctor of medical laboratory, an activist and a politician.

Episode 8 had a hand full of master class guests. Dr. Seidu Fitre, Abdul Samed Khadija, Junaid Timtooni Yakubu didn’t hold back their words. They all shared and expressed, anger, disappointment, and endless love for their work, environment and community.

‘’I think what we need is the building of communities, I have met a lot of young people who are interested in storytelling in the creative field. I think the beauty of the creative field is that you have to be innovative in order to be relevant. You cannot keep doing the same thing year in year out. You have to keep learning and expanding. I think our nation needs that, Africa needs that and the beauty of community building is that it allows us more power than it allows individual. By myself, I can only make so little, in legion with other people the possibilities might be beyond our imagination.’’

Junaid Timtooni Yakubu

‘’I think so far the way we are running our politics is not helping and there is no future unless there is revolution and the revolution should be staged by the youth of this country and not the military. We have to understand that these men are doing things that will affect us in the near future.’’

‘’When we talk about revolution, we are not talking about the guns but the mind. It is not about the NPP or NDC. Whichever political party we find a young man who want to cause a change in his or her society, we have to push the person’’ he added.

Dr. Seidu Fitter

Timtooni talked about his work as a film maker and what the industry can offer in spearheading growth in the region, Dr Seidu Fitter talked on Politics of service a journey into the future while Miss Khadija also made a presentation on how northern media can influence education and economic growth.

One theme that runs through all the quest presentation was togetherness. All the three quest were of the view that, for us to develop us people, we needed to come together to approach our common goals that’s building our community and supporting one another. They also spoke on the power that the youth of this nation hold and what their unity can do for a better nation development.

‘’For us as northern people, because I am passionate about us, we need to learn to grow each other. I think it is something we have not done to well at. We need to begin to see that, there is power in grooming and growing people and encouraging people and working together and there is a lot of power in that. ‘’
