Northern innovation lab in partnership with Ghana Tech Lab under the pathways for sustainable employment program is organizing a startup pitch summit in Walewale on the 12th of September, 2020 at the Walewale Municipal Assembly Hall.

The start-up pitch summit is on the theme: Web technology and it’s potential in Walewale, entrepreneurial ecosystem to accelerate the creation of a job. This event, which is new in the region is set to provide opportunities for the youthful generation within the communities in the region.

Some of the opportunities include creating avenues for a start-up to pitch their innovative ideas, converge innovators and investors in one place, increase access to funding within the ecosystem to celebrate and promote start-up culture in the communities.

“As an SHS graduate coming from a neighboring community called Nayuoko and with no laptop in the community to even learn about I.T, am so excited to have gotten access to a laptop and also create a web page on my own. Now through this skill acquired, most of the girls in the community can benefit from me because I will be sharing with them what I’ve learned.”

Miriam Azum

According to the Northern Innovation lab, the startup pitch summit is not just a one-way thing. While others might get funding for their innovative idea, the rest who are not able to get funding will be put into the institution to help these institutions use technology in their place of work.

So there is no loser in these startup pitch summit. By the end of these internships, the northern innovation lab is hoping to hold a regional job fair, that seeks to bring onboard stakeholders and their graduates to interact and create job opportunities for these youth while also creating platforms for the youth to pitch their ideas to investors.
