The president has no legal power to withdraw the process once it has been duly triggered – Hon. Lawyer Inusah Fuseini

Member of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs of Parliament Inusah Fuseini has described as unconstitutional the decision of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to abort the December 17 referendum. The Tamale Central Legislator is of the opinion that the president has no legal power to withdraw the process once it has been duly triggered. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced the withdrawal of the December 17 referendum last Sunday night saying this was to allow time for further consultations with key stakeholders and the public in general. But speaking on Justice FM TuduLahabalKpana yesterday, the astute lawyer Mr. Fuseini told Alhassan Ibrahim that the President has no such powers.
